Book Signings

Included with Purchase of Book from Ship's Store Only and Daytime Attendance

Following a morning press conference and an afternoon public presentation, Buzz Aldrin will sign his new book Mission to MarsMy Vision for Space Exploration. Published by National Geographic Books in 2013, the Apollo 11 moonwalker outlines his case for launching humans to Mars by 2035.

Together with co-author Leonard David, a veteran space journalist, Aldrin presents his “unified space vision,” a blueprint for maintaining American leadership in human spaceflight while at the same time avoiding a space race with China for a return to the moon.

*Dr. Aldrin will only autograph his new book, Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space Exploration, which must be purchased at the USS Hornet Museum Ship’s Store to receive signature. Credit cards accepted. We cannot accept any discounts on Buzz Aldrin books sold that day and encourage visitors to pre-order through our online store to ensure receipt of a copy.

No other memorabilia, photos, outside items, etc., will be signed. To get through the line, Dr. Aldrin will not personalize the books (he will only sign his name). No posed photography will be allowed. In order to facilitate the process and make this event enjoyable for all our guests, there will be a limit of two (2) books per person. Thank you for your cooperation.

We encourage you to come early (Museum gate open at 10:00 a.m.), buy your books first or pick up your pre-ordered books, and enjoy the day’s activities prior to the signing time.

In addition to Buzz Aldrin, other authors will perform book-signing activities:

USS Hornet Museum Trustee & Apollo Curator Bob Fish will sign his book Hornet Plus Three—The Story of the Apollo 11 Recovery.

(Key members of the actual Apollo 11 Recovery Team will also be available to sign Hornet Plus Three.)

These books are available for purchase at the Museum's Ship Store and advance orders are highly recommended to ensure receipt of a copy.
