FREE parking is available in the outer parking lots across from the Museum
Physically challenged visitors who need assistance boarding the ship should be driven to our scissor lift located under the third brow (where the orange ship’s crane is). One caregiver should accompany the guest on the scissor lift and through the check-in process. Cars must park in the free lot across from the ship after drop-off.
A Museum Engineering Staff member or Safety Division officer will assist you if you require the use of the scissor lift.
Please note that unassisted boarding includes numerous stairs and brows! It is strongly recommended that anyone having difficulties maneuvering stairs or ladders use the lift for boarding.
Museum partners are more than welcome to drive onto the pier to load-on any exhibits and other material via the scissor lift, but you must park in the lot across from the ship after load-on.
Our scissor lift is located under the third brow. A Museum Engineering Staff member will assist you with your load-on needs if you require the use of the scissor lift. Please park your vehicle next to the scissor lift to unpack your items and then proceed to park your vehicle in the lot.
Please note that unassisted boarding includes numerous stairs and brows! It is strongly recommended that you use the lift for boarding. If you do not need assistance, please check in at the Security After Brow after entering the ship. This is the second brow marked EXIT/SECURITY.
Schedule your load-on time in advance with the Museum so we can be ready for your arrival. If you have large exhibit pieces to display, you can also arrange for an earlier set-up date. Friday, July 25, will also be available for set-up if you choose. Please contact Holly Gallagher at (510) 521-8448 x 239 to arrange a pre-set up time.
